Recruitment of COL veteran batters after a great victory in 100 years…LAA ‘no Otani trade’

The LA Angels of the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) made another trade.

The Los Angeles Angels agreed to a trade today (25th) to receive third baseman and first baseman Mike Mustakus (34) from the Colorado Rockies and send one right-handed prospect in the top minor league singles A.

In particular, the trade is unusual in that it took place during the series between the Angels and Colorado. The Angels scored 28 hits and 25 runs against Colorado today for a 25-1 victory. It was the most hits and runs scored in Angels history.

It is the first time in 100 years that MLB has won by 24 points since the Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Red Sox 27-3 on July 8, 1923.

In other words, the Angels have been receiving one of the players in the Colorado lineup since the historic victory. In particular, it is unusual in that there is one game left in the series against Colorado tomorrow.

Mustakus is a veteran infielder with a career-high 207 home runs and 652 RBIs. He is also a member of the 2015 Kansas City Royals championship. 토토

From 2017 to 2019, he succeeded in signing a large contract with 38, 28, and 35 home runs, respectively. He signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Cincinnati Reds, which was the problem after this contract.

As he was constantly injured and his long-hitting power plummeted, he was reduced to “eat and run” and was eventually released in January this year. There is a total of $22 million left until this year’s annual salary of $18 million and $4 million in buyouts that must be paid when the team option is not executed next year, but the decision has been made to release them.

Later in March, he signed a minor contract with Colorado, which transformed him into a completely different look from his Cincinnati days. He revived with a batting average of 0.270 and four home runs, and an OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage) of 0.795 in 136 at-bats in 47 games.

The Angels’ acquisition of Mustakus appears to be aimed at strengthening Connor’s infield depth. The Angels also traded for third baseman Eduardo Escobar (34) from the New York Mets yesterday to send two promising pitchers.

The Angels have been moved to the injured list (IL) on the 60th after third baseman Anthony Rendon (33) and Jio Assella (31) were both injured. He had to reinforce the third base, but the two-day trade filled the gap between the two players. The Angels are expected to use Escobar as third baseman and Mustakus as first baseman in the future.

There is one reason why the Angels send such promising players and immediately get a sense of power. This is because the Angels are highly likely to advance to the postseason this year.

Currently, the Angels are 42-36 and tied for third with the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League (AL) Wild Card Race. If the league ends at this point, you can board the postseason as a wild card.

There is a gap with the Baltimore Orioles (46-29) who are the No. 1 wild card player, but only half a game difference with the No. 2 New York Yankees (42-35). There is absolutely no reason to give up the season.

Therefore, the scenario in which the Angels trade Shohei Otani (28), which has been raised even before the season, is not expected to take place. This is because the Angels, who are running toward the postseason, have no reason to sell Otani, the team’s best player, at this point.

With more than a month left until the trade deadline, the Angels have vowed to continue to perform through two trades. Otani is a non-tradeable resource from the perspective of a “buyer,” not a “seller.”

The successive recruitment of Escobar and Mustakus can be taken as “no Otani trade.” Unless the Angels have a sharp fall in the remaining month.
